Position Description
Vitech Systems Group is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Data Architecture team.

As a Data Analyst you will be a key member of the Data Architecture team responsible for developing a project plan and schedule for data conversion and system interface tasks as part of the overall product implementation plan. The person in this role will work very closely with the Technical Architect, Account Team, clients and 3rd party vendors on mapping the client legacy systems into Vitech’s system based on business and technical requirements. Your responsibilities will include; analyzing the current data structures, data dictionaries, record layouts and operating environment of all client legacy systems that are required to be migrated to the product data model; establish methods for extracting legacy data and for loading the extracted data into Oracle staging tables; develop technical specifications as per business and technical requirements; manage and review the development efforts to make sure that programs and their outputs are consistent with the technical specifications. The Data Analyst will play a critical role in leading the efforts between Vitech, clients and 3rd party vendors on developing and documenting test plans for converted data and system interfaces. The Data Analyst will also work with the DBA’s to configure the database for conversion and interface processing prior to their deployment.

Requirements and skills required include:

Required skills and experience include a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in Oracle, especially in the areas of PL/SQL, SQL programming and SQL Loader; a good foundation and understanding of different database platforms and legacy systems; good working knowledge of Erwin, Oracle Designer or equivalent Data Modeling Logical and Physical Data Modeling tool. Exposure and use of ETL Tools for Data Conversion or Data Warehouse , Data Mart creation a plus. Solid understanding of client/server and WEB concepts and methodologies is a must, and exposure to Java is a plus. The right candidate will have a a demonstrated excellence in analysis, documentation and presentation. Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis, adherence to delivery deadlines, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions. Candidates should have at least 5 years experience in a Data analyst role. BS in Computer Science required.
