Summary Position Summary: Develops and applies leading edge skills/state of the art technology to the development of software products, web architecture, web server components and related systems. Position Responsibilities: ? Applies "guru" level methods to the creation of software/web designs based on an assessment of software/web functions, performance requirements, design specifications, major routines and utility programs. ? Determines costs, staffing requirements for successful completion of products/projects. ? Coordinates and directs the activities of lower level technical personnel by assigning product and/or project work based on skills and technical competence required. ? Directs problem solving on projects or major phases of projects to resolve highly advanced technical issues. ? Reviews progress of projects or major phases of projects and recommends technical correction and evaluates results. ? Applies highly advanced "guru" level concepts in the creation, design, development, coding, testing, debugging of software systems/web architecture for assigned software programs, applications and projects. ? Resolves highly advanced software/web compatibility and interface problems and analysis of system architecture. ? Applies highly advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming, computer or interpreter technologies, embedded systems, relational databases and new/advanced programmer language. ? Develops and directs highly advanced software/web architecture systems testing procedures, programming and documentation. ? Maintains leading edge skills by maintaining an active participation in seminars, courses and reviews of appropriate articles and literature. ? May be responsible for assigning work or giving direction to lower level technical personnel. Scope/Level of Decision Making: Works under consultative direction. Works on unusually complex and sensitive problems and provides state-of-the-art solutions that are highly creative. These are the highest level individual contributor technical positions in the company, recognized internally and externally as experts in their fields. Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Typically requiring 12+ years of experience. Requires a minimum of a BS Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. This position is the leading edge "guru" level technical resource for highly advanced software/web server technologies. Experience with C++, JAAVA, UNIX, Windows NT, TCP/IP protocols is a must.
