ATK-IS is a leading developer of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, Special Mission Aircraft (SMA) solutions and services and specialized sensor and weapon system technology.The division is a capabilities-based organization with competencies in systems engineering and architecture design, software development, modeling & simulation, specialized component development, subsystem development, system and platform integration and test , aircraftmodification and FAA certification.
Position Summary
In this position the candidate will be specifically working with Software, Integration & Test and V&V within our Systems Engineering organization in Woodland Hills, CA. This will be an individual contributor position with the possibility of leadership as this organization grows and gains more technical landscape:
- In this role as a senior software engineer you will follow software process CMM level 3 to conduct software development activities
- Be involved with review of top-level requirement and requirements allocated to software
-Coordinate with system engineers to refine software requirements
- Participate in generation of Software Development Plan
- Participate in generation of Software Requirement Specification
- Perform software design and conduct design reviews
- Coordinate with analysts to convert algorithms into code
- Develop software and conduct code reviews
- Participate in generation of test plans and procedures
- Perform software unit testing, simulation testing, and hardware-software integration
- Team with analysts to plan tests and analyze data
- Meet with hardware engineers to address hardware issues
- Support software integration activities in the lab and in the field
- Coordinate with I&T team to support testing and analyze test results
- Assume project lead responsibilities as needed.
- Coordinate and lead team to perform software development activities
- Meet with program management and customers to support planning and report status
Experience & Education Requirements
- BS in Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, MS preferred
- 15 or more years of Software Engineering experience in embedded software, simulation software, and test software development
- Experience with full software life cycle, including requirement analysis, design, code, test, documentation and embedded software design, development, and integration
- Design experience with C++, C, Ada and Assembly programming languages
- Knowledgeable with software CMM process (level 3 or above)
- Experience with real-time operating systems and device drivers
- Understand and have worked with UML concept and tools
- Knowledgeable with Software Configuration Management (SCM) process
- Experience with software documentation (SDP, SRS, IRS, Test Plans/Procedures
- Possess sound communications skills verbal and written communications
Desired Skills
- Background in Aerospace, missile, satellite, avionics sensor suite, avionic interface, GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control), radar sensors, EW (electronic warfare).
- Experience with Matlab and Simulink
- Experience with software simulation and algorithm conversion; lab test equipments (logic analyzer, oscilloscope); testing in the lab and chamber.
