This job is responsible for coaching Relationship Managers in support of the Small Business banking division to achieve business objectives, key production goals, and to maintain effective and consistent internal control practices.
This position requires a mastery of small business relationship building, sales and sales management, and strategic planning. The work involves applying Small Business banking objectives to your assigned sales area to develop effective strategies for your team of Relationship Managers to achieve their sales and performance goals. In a rapidly growing and dynamic organization, you will apply your experience and judgment to proactively solve issues and take advantage of business opportunities without continuous direction from your supervisor.Essential Functions:
• Provide management, organization, leadership and control for the Small Business Relationship Managers within assigned area.
• Ensure the best use of organizational resources by planning and executing against strategic and long-range goals within the area, including actively managing all small business sales activities in the branch network
• Demonstrate expertise in a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures
• Build a dynamic sales and leadership team effectively offering Small Business products and services through the retail bank distribution network
• Ensure effective partnership with Strategic Partners in assigned area
• Provide accountability for credit quality, regulatory compliance, and effective partnership with CRA representative regarding community reinvestment performance and compliance with community reinvestment program objectives
• Must be able to work comfortably in an ambiguous and dynamic environment where direction from supervisor is not always available
• Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
• Successful track record in developing and leading a relationship-management team in Banking, Financial Services, or a closely related industry
• Demonstrated results in execution of strategy to build sales and successful business relationships utilizing team of Small Business Relationship Managers
• 5+ years of Business Banking / Financial Services sales or related experience
• Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred (or the equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job)
• Banking School graduate preferred
• Travel required
