Maintains responsibility and authority for all aspects of External and Internal Communications, & Community Relations for Anniston facilities and operations. Acts as an official Ground Systems spokesperson. Develops and implements internal and external communications strategies using newsletter, Internet and Intranet, e-mail, printed materials and custom programs as needed. Develops and manages a communication budget. Prepares press releases and maintains positive media relations. In coordination with the Director of Communications, advises and assists in the execution Corporate Giving Program at Anniston facilities. Directs the work of public relations consultants, contract photographers, and summer college interns. Reports to the Director of Communications and responds to the Anniston site leadership. Performs other duties as required. Conducts External Communications in support of Anniston facilities and operations. Acts as an official Ground Systems spokesperson Routinely responds to local and national media (print, TV, Radio, Internet) Prepares press releases and conducts press events as required. Maintains positive relations and conducts outreach events to local and regional media. Conducts Internal Communications in support of Anniston facilities and operations. Develops internal information strategies and campaigns to in support of leadership goals and objectives. Writes, edits, publishes and distributes a monthly employee newsletter. Writes, edits and manages content for selected Ground Systems internet and intranet websites. Maintains proficiency and currency in Stellant software application. Serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT). Supports the SLT goal and objectives with appropriate level of resources. Major focus areas include: Safety, Employee Welfare, and United Way annual campaign. Serves as the Anniston lead coordinator and subject matter expert for the Chairman?s Awards. Ensures that Anniston?s submissions meet standards and are submitted on time.

Must have the following:

1. Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field. 2. Minimum five years' experience in business communications, including employee communications, public/media relations, public affairs and marketing communications. 3. General knowledge of business and organizational dynamics. 4. General knowledge of major defense industry issues.
