Jet is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate for their Distribution warehouse who is an oriented team player with a positive enthusiastic attitude who is committed to excellence in producing quality work, and has demonstrated the requisite skills necessary to be successful in a fast paced fabrication fire protection organization.
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for shipping and receiving
products and materials and ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
Shipping:
Selecting and preparing daily shipments which include pulling orders, packaging and freight/invoice paperworkPrepares Federal Express, UPS, Conway, Yellow Freight, and other common carriers for shipping Completes shipping orders with correct weights and necessary identification labels and stickersPalletizing and wrapping of skidsDelivers completed orders and packages to designated shipping areaVerifies all orders and records shipping information.Works closely with purchasing to track shortages for late/slow deliveryAssist in loading trucks as necessaryReceiving:
Unloads merchandise being received from trailers Checks accuracy of receipts: counts boxes and/or pallets and signs invoicesExamines and inspects stock items for damages and defectsIdentifies incorrect/short shipped items and immediately notify supervisorPacks, unpacks, and marks stock items, using identification labels and stickersRecords receiving data using computerFills backorders, product bins and stores remainder of product in the warehouse for inventoryAssists in resolving inventory discrepancies General forklift and equipment operation: Standup lift, Sit down lift – propane, scissor lift, etc.Exposure to hot/cold temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes Bending and lifting throughout the day of material up to 65 lbsAdheres to OSHA standards and company safety policies and procedures (i.e. equipment usage, tools, signage, driving, ladders, etc.)Providing backup to the warehouseClean up and general maintenance duties Other duties as requestedQualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent training and experience3-4 years of recent Shipping/Receiving experience within a distribution or warehouse environmentMust have recent experience and certification operating forklifts (i.e. Stand up and propane)Computer Literate Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbersGood verbal communication skillsAbility to resolve discrepancies Ability to work in high paced, deadline-oriented environmentAbility to lift up to 65 lbs, some of which may be heavy or awkwardAbility to work in hot/cold temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumesPreferred Experience (but not required):
Computerized materials tracking Eclipse systemBilingual: English/SpanishFederal Express, UPS and other carriers
