Senior Tolerance Analysis Engineer - MI
Summary
Our client, a recognized leader in consumer products, is looking for a Senior Tolerance Analysis Engineer to join their growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the development of new technologies and features from concept to production. Using your expertise in applying tolerance simulation, manufacturing process integration, and metrology, you’ll develop a variety of components, sub-assemblies, and subsystems. You’ll work close with product, manufacturing, and quality teams to provide deliverables in support of concept development, prototyping, tooling releases, and inspection validation activities. Other responsibilities include:
Directing cross-functional activities with Procurement, Manufacturing, Suppliers and Quality, both regionally and globally. Contributing to the design, development and evaluation of new and existing components and subsystems, while integrating Modular concepts.Assisting with establishing design metrics related to consumer-driven performance targets.Deriving functional design limits utilizing designed experiment techniques.Analyzing systems for fit and function, and quantify variation robustness and risks.Interfacing with tooling suppliers to review process details and evaluate manufacturability.Developing inspection plans, establishing and reviewing inspection methods and sampling, and providing guidance with interpreting and utilizing results.Providing expert consultation in GD&T specification and functional dimensioning.

Qualifications
· BSME (MSME a plus) and 5+ years of experience in tolerance management and simulation, including knowledge of tolerance analysis (VisVSA and/or CeTol preferred).
· Demonstrated knowledge of dimensional management (Datums, functional dimensioning, GD&T, and drawing creation) and the ability to coach, mentor, and teach in this area.
· Knowledgeable of inspection methods, CMM programming, and modeling tools for CAD (ProE preferred).
· Good understanding of tooling design, capabilities of molding and stamping processes, and experience with high-volume assembly fixturing techniques.
· Any Black Belt training or CQE experience is preferred.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a leadership role.
