Senior Test Engineer - Eden Prairie, MN
Doherty Career Solutions has partnered with a medical device manufacturer in search of a Senior Test Engineer for their Eden Prairie, MN facility. The Senior Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, and conducting tests on products and systems; applying knowledge and principles of electronic and mechanical theory; and testing methodology and procedures. This role will also develop or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and embedded software systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop tests for verification and validation of electromechanical medical industry products.
2. Develop data acquisition test systems for verification, validation, and production testing.
3. Design experiments to characterize mechanical, fluid control, and electrical systems.
4. Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies.
5. Develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products.
6. Test mechanical hardware and its interface to the system.
7. Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports.
8. Maintain familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
9. Leverage extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
10. Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
11. Foster, operate in, and promote a DFSS environment within the organization.
12. Manage test engineering tools and laboratory environment.
13. Rigorously document verification and validation test plans.
14. Identify continuous improvement projects, and participate in the selection of vendors and fabrication sources.
15. Understand and execute the quality policy.
16. Maintain both technical skills and a broad knowledge of company products, competitors, and customer needs.
Requirements:
1. BS in a technical discipline such as Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering is required.
2. 5+ years of experience, preferably within the medical device industry.
3. 5+ years of experience using LabVIEW.
4. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
