RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Prepare high level items in the income tax provision and U.S. federal and state corporate and partnership tax returns.
§ Detailed initial review of the tax analyst or consultant's work papers and returns.
§ Provide guidance to the tax analyst or consultant on a daily basis on less complex issues.
§ Identify and research issues and make recommendations accordingly.
§ Additional areas of responsibility are:
o Sales and use taxes, property taxes, estimated taxes, maintenance of tax fixed assets, annual state filings, licenses, etc.
o Audit support including drafting responses to document requests from auditors and communicating with taxing jurisdictions on audits and other matters.
§ Perform tax research and provide internal consulting to groups within Visa, including but not limited to Legal, Finance, Purchasing and Marketing. The scope of this consulting could include memoranda, contract review, and deal structuring to optimize tax results.
§ Coordinate project work between Visa and outside consultants.
REQUIREMENTS
§ Undergraduate degree in accounting with six years experience in (1) public accounting or (2) corporate tax department.
§ A team player with strong tax compliance and basic FAS 109 skills.
§ Ability to handle multiple tasks.
§ Must be able to speak and write effectively.
§ CPA and Masterīs degree in taxation desirable.
