Our client in Charlotte, NC is looking for a permanent Sr. Systems Engineer to join their team. The Senior Systems Engineer serves as a member of our client's Technology Team, manages servers, SAN storage, and enterprise applications and provides second-line technical support for business operations. The ideal candidate is a senior level systems administrator with experience designing enterprise implementations and enjoys learning, using and maintaining a broad array of skills. This is a senior level hands-on position. Job Responsibilities: Windows 2003 Active Directory administration, including group policy administration, user account maintenance and other related tasks Administration of Exchange 2003 and SQL Server 2000/2005 Administration of corporate anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-spyware solutions Setup/configuration/maintenance of fiber channel SAN storage Coordinate with DBA on SQL tasks and projects Second tier technology support to include: Desktop/laptop computer support - hardware and software Printer/Copier/Fax Support Application support for COTS and In-house applications PDA/Blackberry support Perform product evaluations and make technology recommendations Carry Blackberry for after-hours support incidents Perform other tasks as directed Required Skills: Experience supporting common server operating systems, including Windows 2000/2003 Server Experience with performance monitoring and resolution Expert understanding of Active Directory and Group Policies Experience administering Exchange 2000/2003 Experience administering Blackberry Enterprise Server 4 Experience administering SQL Server 2000/2005 Experience with Windows Clustering Experience administering IIS 5 and IIS 6 Experience with Commvault Galaxy or other enterprise backup application Experience with SAN storage and fiber channel technologies Desire/ability to learn new technical skills and computer applications Excellent customer service skills Outstanding interpersonal skills Excellent troubleshooting skills Must be detail oriented, with the ability/drive to see complex tasks to completion under minimum supervision Ability to provide effective written/verbal communications to both technical/non-technical persons Ability to maintain positive attitude and professional appearance at all times Proven ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks Ability to work after hours/on-call as required Desired Skills: Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (PERL, WSH, VB, etc.) Experience working in high-availability, multi-site environment Experience with enterprise power management Experience with SAS70, SOX and GLBA Experience in investment brokerage, bank-based investment or insurance services
