Interactions Inc. headquartered in Carmel, Indiana is looking to hire a motivated Staff Accountant. Interactions Inc. is a growing technology company that has revolutionized the customer service industry with the creation of an innovative software program. This newly created position will work under minimal supervision and according to generally accepted accounting procedures prepare standard and specialized financial reports (i.e., balance sheets, income statements, pro formas, etc.) as well as perform financial analysis to summarize current and projected company financial position.
The Staff Accountant will recommend methods and procedures in order to improve overall accounting processes and may also take on additional tasks including accounts receivable and/or payroll. May also provide work direction or technical assistance to others within the department.
Prepares various financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, etc. Performs financial analyses and makes recommendations for the management of financial resources. Check journal vouchers and financial reports for accuracy. Recommends methods and procedures to improve the functioning of the accounting area. Works closely with personnel in other departments to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Education and Work Experience
Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business (with an accounting emphasis). Must have a minimum of six years of experience working within the Accounting arena, specific knowledge of commission statements, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and/or receivables, general ledger and/or payroll is a plus.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Experience in software and/or services environment preferred, especially Revenue Recognition principals. Experience working in small company environment – exposure to payroll, employee benefits and 401(k) administration is helpful.
Must be capable of working in multiple disciplines within the organization – accounting/finance and HR/benefits. Must be a self-starter, self-managed and be able to work on your own without daily supervision. Must be easy to work with and a problem solver.
