A leading telecommunications company has a contract position open for a Senior Software Engineer to assist with and perform the following:

Design device abstraction frameworks under Windows using .NET and C# Design and develop applications using interfaces like SNMP, Telnet/SSH, Web Services, WMI Design and develop software for network architectures using firewalls, switches, etc Design and develop user interfaces using C#, .NET, HTML, etc Write specifications and plans for new designs Work closely with on or off-site Development, Integration and QA teams Assist in writing help and technical documentation Troubleshoot system and software problems Other duties as assigned

Their headquarters in Portland, OR offer in-house expertise in Project Management, Systems Integration and Configuration, Electronics and Embedded Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Internal and External Client Training, Quality Control and Testing, and Software Architecture.

This is an estimated 4 month contract position through Volt Services Group, a member of the Volt family of companies and a publicly traded, nationally recognized leader in providing staffing and information services. Requirements:

Required Skills for this Senior Software Engineer position include the following: 8 Years Software Engineering industry experience required Experience with commercial software development Experience with C++, C#, .NET, or other Microsoft VisualStudio based languages Experience with networking protocols and services: TCP, HTTP, SNMP, SSH, etc Experience with network hardware and software like firewalls, switches, VPN, routing, etc Experience with Windows Server functionality using Active Directory, WMI, etc Strong communication and documentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences Strong work ethic - someone who loves to "crank" out the great work and takes great pride in professionalism, responsibility, and proactive-ness

Education requirements: BS Computer Science or equivalent experience

Bonus skills: Familiarity with phone system technology (PBX, VoIP) highly desirable
