The Computer and Statistical Sciences practice supports the Assessment program through software design and development and applied statistics specific to educational assessment. It consists of a staff of over twenty computer scientists, programmers, and statisticians. The CSS practice area has developed a sophisticated Item Tracking System that is used by all assessment projects to control and monitor the progress of each test item through its life cycle. This helps to assure quality items for assessment projects. The Lighthouse and Performance Beacon products provide online aggregate reports from statistical data. These software products, developed entirely by AIR, give clients the ability to dynamically construct completely customizable reports over the Web in real time. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team.
Perform software requirements analysis through engagement with clients. Software design and engineering. Supervision of development and deployment of software products. Provide leadership to software development teams and serve on the software engineers council.
B.S. Computer Science required, M.S. Computer Science a plus. A minimum of 7 years experience in software development, at least 5 as principle designer or architect. 4 years experience with relational database design. 3-5 years experience directing software development teams. Knowledge of natural language processing. Experience in web-based system development. Expert knowledge of and experience in object-oriented design. Skilled in C++, C#, Java, XML, XSL, SQL, HTML
