DescriptionPurpose of the Role:The candidate will contribute to the drug discovery efforts by supporting research that is ongoing in the Cell Science group. The candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing vectors for improved protein expression of candidate therapeutics. The candidate will be responsible for continuous technological improvement initiatives in line with the generation and characterization of production cell lines.
Responsibilities:He/she will be responsible for generating production cell lines for recombinant therapeutic proteins. Involves vector construction, transfection, selection and cloning of mammalian cells (non-adherent).He/she will be responsible for evaluating technological improvement initiatives.He/she will be responsible for characterizing the stable cell lines.He/she will generate, analyze and report results of experiments and present at group/departmental meetings.He/she will ensure full documentation of their work (notebook, protocols, reports, etc.).
EDUCATION/LANGUAGES PhD + Post Doc., MS + 5 or a B.S. + 7 years experience in Biology, Biochemistry, or Engineering.Fluent in English
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS && EXPERIENCEIt is essential that the candidate has a strong working knowledge of molecular and cell biology with a demonstrated track record in the field. In depth knowledge and hands-on experience in aseptic cell culture is essential. A clear understanding of the regulatory requirements for generating cell lines is desired. Additional experience in flow cytometry is a plus.

He/ She must be able to work independently and as a team member. Excellent written, oral and collaborative skills are essential to effectively communicate scientific information.
