Responsibilities:
The individual will be a member of an Advanced Technology development group focused on a project involving the design and development of dry reagent formulations for new diagnostic immunoassay and biomedical applications. Key responsibilities include formulation, preparation and drying of biological reagents, notably dye-conjugated antibodies, and other assay components in a unit-dose format with well-defined rehydration properties. The individual will be expected to help improve performance of existing designs and establish quality control protocols.
Requirements:
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or related field. Industry experience, notably in a regulated setting, is highly desirable as is ability to lead a small technical group. Ideally, the individual will have 8 years of industry experience, and a strong immunochemistry background with hands-on experience in reagent formulation in various dry matrices for immunoassay applications. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of reagent conjugation and various protein and low molecular weight dye chemistries. Previous experience working with human blood and other biological samples is also very desirable.
