TERC's Center for School Reform seeks a Senior Research Associate,for a cutting-edge interactive electronic community, MSPnet (mspnet.org)created for the National Science Foundation. MSPnet serves as both a nationalresource center for projects engaged in Mathematics and Science reform, and asa collegial network that fosters collaboration and communication online.

We seek a researcher to conduct research and evaluation on manyaspects of this rich and complex project, including front end assessment for amajor redesign of the network, formative assessment, research on collaborativetools and collegial networking.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D in cognitive science,learning sciences, or a related field, or a Masters degree with several yearsof relevant research experience. He/she should have a demonstrated interest inresearching electronic communities or social networks, excellent experience with bothquantitative and qualitative research methods, excellent communication andwriting skills, and the ability to work well on a team. Expertise in areas such as social network analysis, distributed knowledge, expertnetworks, or cognitive engineering for collaborative environments are a plus,as is an interest in math and science educational policy. The positionwill sometimes require travel.
