The Senior Recruiter has high-level responsibility for planning, developing, implementing and maintaining innovative recruitment and retention strategies for the designated services of Sutter VNA & Hospice. The Senior Recruiter is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process effectively as a strategic partner ensuring that appropriate recommendations are made and process is smooth, efficient and meets the needs of the hiring managers and candidates. Additionally develops and maintains effective working relationships with all levels of management to provide full-service customer support. Develops and presents recommendations for community recruitment activities. Participates in internship programs, career fairs, college recruitment and other outreach programs, as appropriate. The Senior Recruiter manages recruitment metrics and is responsible for pulling and distributing weekly, quarterly and annual reports for several populations including executive management. The Senior Recruiter analyzes this data, putting into place improvement strategies. Manages retention strategy involving full-cycle advertising project, including budget responsibilities. Responsible for negotiation and maintenance of outsourcing fees for contractor vendors as needed. Develops and delivers recruitment related training to managers. Responsible for working with senior management to coordinate and execute recruitment related events. . The Senior Recruiter is the lead for recruitment user group activities and makes recommendations for “best practices” for recruitment to organization.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred. Advanced education, or experience in interviewing methodology and employment law helpful.
Experience: A minimum of five years prior recruitment or employment management experience is required. Healthcare recruitment experience is strongly preferred. Experience recruiting for impacted industries (i.e., highly skilled healthcare clinical positions such as pharmacist, clinical branch managers) preferred. Experience in developing recruitment strategies that support and reflect the organization. Demonstrated success developing and managing innovative recruitment plans and programs is highly desirable.
Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of employment, recruitment, and fair employment practices is required. Demonstrated knowledge of Title VII of the Civil Rights Acts, Federal EEO and FEH laws, Rehabilitation Act, ADA, and Wage and Hours laws are also required. Knowledge of electronic recruiting and recruitment trends required. Knowledge of recruitment sourcing modalities essential. Ability to interpret new laws and communicate practical application to the operation teams required.
Special Skills/Equipment: Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The incumbent must have exceptional knowledge of Behavioral Interviewing techniques and question development. Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to user needs in a prompt, courteous manner. Must possess creativity. Must be able to manage or participate in multiple projects at the same time and deliver quality service. Must have good organizational skills and be able to prioritize multiple projects and objectives in a rapidly changing environment. Demonstrated ability to use standard PC equipment, work processing software, Internet, and database management programs is required. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word required. Exel, power point and other programs helpful. Ability to work independently with minimal direction/ supervision Ability to analyze data, identify information trends and develop responsive strategies is required. In depth knowledge of applicant tracking systems required.
Physical Requirements: Requires flexible work hours and ability to travel frequently from one Sutter VNA & Hospice location to another. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and sit/ work at computer terminals. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and kneel for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand stationary on hard surfaces for long periods of time in exhibit halls or other job fair environments. Ability to safely lift materials weighing 40 lbs. or more with assistance.
