Description: Senior Network Support Engineer Location: Atlanta - North Were Kaplan IT Learning, providing certification preparation, assessment, learning services and software to help individuals and organizations train on technology and prepare for technology certifications. Responsibilities: - Architect and maintain virtual networks between multiple offices and implement security policies needed to maintain connectivity - Design, plan, configure and access routers, switches, firewalls, network appliances, host, and other communication devices from both a capacity and configuration standpoint. - Manage configurations and deployment of equipment in compliance with established policies - Troubleshoot and report network performance issues. - Maintain system and network availability and monitoring of services. - Develop recommendations for appropriate network policies and standards. - Maintain the appropriate relationships with 3rd party vendors, evaluate vendor hardware, software, and communications products, and provide recommendations for purchases - Participate in rotating 'on-call' schedule with other members of the team. - Administer, monitor and troubleshoot 100+ Windows systems in a distributed environment. - Daily operations such as Server management, User management (User Manager), Exchange 2003 and 2007 Administration,Sharepoint Portal Administration and Windows Security Permissions (ACLs, Groups, File system, Exchange ACLs) - Coordinate maintenance, replacement and repair of servers. - Administer, monitor and troubleshoot VM server infrastructure. - Assist in providing internal support of various technologies - Perform ad-hoc on site support visits if and when required - May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements. - May be required to assist in quality assurance and testing methods of company product - Provide end-user training and support through verbal, written and/or phone communications. - Coordinate with other network and business application administrators, helpdesk, project management, and database administrators to ensure customer satisfaction and product reliability. Qualifications: - 7 or more years experience with Cisco routing, switching, VPN and firewall technologies, and Windows Server administration, - 7 + years of experience as a Windows Server Administrator/Architect - Several years experience with the following products/services - Enterprise management experience with Active Directory and Group Policy - Experience supporting multiple domains - Exchange 2003/2007 - Vmware - Citrix Metaframe 4.0 / 4.5 - Sharepoint Portal - SQL Server - WINS/DHCP/DNS - Windows disaster recovery - Symantec Anti-Virus - DELL Server Hardware - Network / Storage Area Networks - 3 years in software support environment and ability to troubleshoot at the server/desktop level both onsite and remotely - Strong preference for backgrounds in managing Co-located hosted environments- - Familiarity with Terminal Server and/or Citrix environments. - Experience with the deployment and support of remote customers; specifically Application Support, Windows maintenance and remote administration. - Ability to conduct research into customer network, hardware, and software issues and company products as required; - Basic working knowledge of common networking protocols and standards - One year of experience managing projects and functioning as Senior Support Engineer - CCNA Certification - MCSE Certification. - Proficient in MS Office and MS Project. - Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives. - Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills. - Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language. - Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. - Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. - Strong customer service orientation. - Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
