Looking to join an innovative family owned company? Volt Professional Search is currently looking for an individual to work directly for our customer as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This senior level engineering position is accountable for engineering research, development, design and execution of equipment, processes, and systems for manufacturing, materials handling, and unique machinery/systems. RESPONSIBILITIES - Interfaces with Supply Chain Engineering and Supply Chain Management in the development and evaluation of new and improved processes leading to lower cost and quality products. - Manages and coordinates with all groups to conduct specialty runs and trial sample runs for the development of specifications and process parameters. - Interfaces with Global Procurement in identification and specifications of commercially available equipment to be tested and evaluated at the facility and outside the company. - Keep abreast of advanced equipment available in the industry. - Interfaces with the facility management team on projects within the 100,000 square foot testing and development facility. - Develop engineering and process specifications to execute the engineering innovation-related projects, including execution and management of the budget. - Preparation and management of project schedule in terms of launching new products and engineering project execution. - Perform necessary engineering calculations to insure equipment or process design requirements are achieved. - Prepare required bid documents and cost estimates for required process and equipment installations. - Together with developers, engineers, and engineering management, coordinates in sharing technology and finding solutions to help resolve problems that affect research, development and production globally. - Lead engineering team on the installation, start-up and validation of first-time prototype equipment or process in Supply Chain factories globally.

Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering required. - Experience with equipment and machine development and design preferred. - Professional experience in process/product development and mechanical design, equipment design, testing and evaluation, and manufacturing of custom equipment components preferred. - Expertise in project management including product, process and facility efforts. - Knowledge of 3D CAD application and use for mechanical design and engineering analysis. - Process flow diagram (PFD) experience a plus. - Self motivating and self starting, capable of making independent decisions, developing a plan, getting alignment through all levels, and executing the plan. - Strong people skills that develop and nurture an environment building a high performance team.
