The candidate is a Hands-On Creative Sr. Mechanical Engineer, and has experience with Imaging Systems, Robotics and Automated Equipment, with emphasis on system engineering. System engineering includes looking at the whole system, end use, implication, etc: electrical and not just mechanical. This person will be able to work from an architectural standpoint – very upfront part of the Development Process, defining the product to last part of process in modifying existing products.
This individual will Conceptualize, Design and Detail on new and existing product development projects through all development phases from concept to manufacturing transfer and is highly interested in considering a challenging individual contributor role with technical and project management leadership responsibilities.
Additional responsibilities include contributing towards and/or creating new product requirements definition, system architecture, and system design requirements specification. In general, the candidate will perform a variety of complicated tasks and will work in an environment that a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Responsibilities:
Applies advanced knowledge of mechanical design/engineering principles to design products such as robotic parts, mechanisms, instruments, motion controls, tools/fixtures, machines, etc.Design Detailing per Global StandardsManages Product Development ProjectsUpdate management team of program progress and status of critical issues.Supplier selection and interactionEngage in cross-functional technical meetings to enhance products reliability and process enhancement to reduce costs.Required Skills/Experience:
B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of industry experience; Strong experience designing imaging, electro-mechanical, opto-mechanical, and electro-optical systems; Strong experience developing technology and concept proposals;Strong experience designing hardware for production medical equipment under FDA guideline is highly preferred;2+ years of management experience and/or training Knowledge of the product development process, a variety of manufacturing processes, mechanical system integration, and design for manufacturingExcellent communication skills Project management skillsExperience with 3-D Solid Modeling CAD tools (Solid-Works) is a MUST
