Description:

We are currently looking for an innovative person with a passion for technology to drive the mechanical design of a revolutionary new productivity and entertainment device. The candidate will be part of a fast-paced concurrent engineering team comprised of all functional disciplines necessary to bring new products to market. Primary responsibilities will include: 1) completion of first generation design, including releasing the design to document control; and 2) design to incorporate new market requirements RESPONSIBILITIES Develop innovative designs for new product class. Candidates will be required to contribute a high level of system design understanding in the interaction of complex platform subsystems, including shock and vibration resistance, thermal controls, and regulatory compliance. Candidates should have drive to solve technical issues and a passion for delivering world-class products. Strong skill-set in analysis and problem solving as well as communication are required. Candidate will interface with ODM to support manufacture and design activities. Will also review the designs of other engineers, designers and contract design houses.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS -5-8+ yrs. Mechanical Engineering and Product Development experience. -Good Wildfire & Intralink skill set -Solid project management skills -Strong computer skills -Strong mechanical design skills -Experience in Electro-Mechanical Packaging -Experience dealing with Thermal, EMI, Vibration and Contamination issues -Hands-on experience with sheet metal design/fabrication, soft tooling processes -Ability to multi-task, work quickly, accurately and communicate effectively with team members. -Experience creating complete design/documentation packages for production. -Ability to work in a team setting to carry a design from concept to manufacturing -Talent for troubleshooting design issues as they arise -Ability to prototype models in order to evaluate new concepts and reduce risk -Works independently and as part of a team -Fluency in both written and oral English. Ability to prepare clear and concise written reports and presentations. -Able to organize design reviews and lead technical discussions. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS -Manufacturing experience in low to medium volume production -Plastics selection and molded part design experience -Casting experience, thixomolding a plus -Opto-mechanical experience -CAE experience/capabilities (both structural and thermal desired) -Design for manufacture experience -Design of experiments experience -Ability to learn risk management skills (understand risk, assess risk qualitatively to learn and use techniques to measure performance of subcontractors and vendors) -Materials Science background EDUCATION A BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with relevant experience
