Senior Manager, Public Relations
The Senior Manager, Public Relations will develop and lead PR programs to build awareness of Business.com and Work.com through the media, both traditional and online, and drive business results. This position reports to the VP, Marketing.
Responsibilities
· Define PR objectives, develop strategy and lead program execution to build target business audience awareness of Business.com and Work.com through national, local and trade and online media
· Track and report on PR program results (articles, impressions, registrations, etc.)
· Develop PR programs to support product launches and Sales Marketing campaigns
· Develop and maintain all PR materials including press releases, fact sheets, testimonials and related items
· Prepare internal speakers for media events and speaking engagements, and occasionally serve as company spokesperson
· Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with key internal stakeholders, both at Business.com and our parent company, R.H. Donnelley, and the media
Skills/Qualifications
· BA (concentration in Journalism or Communications preferred) and 5+ years experience in a fast-paced, high growth environment
· Strong written and verbal skills, and experience with all forms of PR communications (e.g., writing press releases, media interviews, public speaking, etc.)
· Public relations agency experience preferred
· Experience with top B2B and/or online brands strongly preferred
· Experience utilizing PR software (e.g., Vocus, Cision, etc.) to create media lists, identify opportunities and track PR results preferred
· Ability to build productive relationships with company management, partners, customers, analysts and members of the media
· Excellent organizational skills and writing ability, even under tight deadlines
· Ability to identify and capitalize on news-making opportunities
· Creativity, intelligence, strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
