Currently we are seeking Senior Linux Network Administrators to work in our ISS Division ( http://www.scires.com/divisions/iss.htm) in beautiful, historic Charleston, SC.
The candidate is required to be a part of and interact with a 15 person technical team, consisting of both Government and Contractor engineers and technicians, in order to resolve any issues that may arise with laboratory or fielded Linux systems. Qualified candidates must possess the ability to communicate technical knowledge and direction through briefs, Requirements Specification, System Design Documents, Test Plans/Reports, and other documentation. The candidate must also possess the ability to troubleshoot fielded systems, test new systems/configurations in a lab environment, and actively participate in technical meetings.
The candidate will be expected to demonstrate superior technical proficiency in the following areas of software engineering, testing and documentation with a focus on Red Hat Linux:
At least 5-8 years experience with Red Hat Linux (including Fedora)RPM creation, distribution, updatingLinux Kernel customizationKnowledge and some experience using the following Services/Applications:BindRsyncSendmailSquidSyslogBash scriptingPXE Boot environmentMySQL DatabasePKI CertificatesModularized Programming and System Automation
Demonstrate an overall understanding of SMTP, DNS, NTP, HTTP/HTTPS, basic IP
Networking, PTables, Apache, Proxying Firewalls, Advanced IP Routing, Perl Scripting, RRD Tool, PHP
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
BS degree in a technical discipline is HIGHLY desirable.Red Hat Certified Engineer or higher.RHCE or Higher current certification, preferable with RHEL 5 certification (Request Cert #)Significant experience in Server clustering and virtualization (preferable experience using VMWARE)Experience operating Blade Chassis integrated with a SAN architectureNot required, but prefer, experience with Service Oriented Architecture.
