Senior IT Manager – Computer Operations

As the Senior IT Manager within our Computer Operations area, you will responsible for a delivering a 7x24, high-availability computer operations environment. In addition you will be responsible for managing the computing environment in such a way as to protect the production systems critical to the success of the business. Additional responsibilities include:

Develop and manage the budgets for the entire IT Computer Operations area (~$8 million/annually). Develop and manage tactical (< 1year) and strategic (3+ year) plans for the IT Computer Operations area.Select, train, develop, and lead an effective and efficient IT Computer Operations workforce (~ 60 associates).Manage the corporate data center environment including facility management, configuration management, capacity management and preventative maintenance. Identify and implement cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives within the IT Operations area.Ensure that all backup/recovery and disaster recovery processes will meet or exceed business requirements.Ensure that defined service levels and availability targets are met for all critical systems. Produce daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operational metrics reporting.Manage production incidents including notification and escalation, service restoration, and root cause analysis. Maintain an awareness of the latest trends in computing hardware, software, and operational process improvement.

Required skills:

Technical School degree in Computer Science or related fieldMinimum of 6 to 10 years work experience in data center operationsMinimum of 5 years of management experienceKnowledge of mainframe, mid-range, and distributed systems and softwareProven ability to communicate with all areas of the data center and with customersProven ability to formulate, implement, and evaluate plans, programs, and procedures applicable to the IT Computer Operations areaProven ability to function in an environment which requires flexibility, good judgment, and intelligent decision making, often based on limited information and/or under extreme conditions

Preferred skills:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related fieldExperience leading operations in a multi-platform (mainframe, mid-range, distributed) environment.Experience implementing ITIL best practices within a computer operations areaITIL certification
