SENIOR HEALTHCARE ACTUARY POSITION

Position Description: Senior Consulting Actuary

Position Overview:
Spring Consulting Group, LLC is looking for a creative thinker to drive the development of a new captive healthcare product line and manage a team of 2+ actuaries in providing support and subject matter experience in some of our key business areas. The individual will work out of our Boston office.

Candidate Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will have an FSA designation, 10+ years experience in designing and pricing group healthcare products and meet the AAA qualification standards for signing healthcare reserve statements.  In addition, they will possess:

· Orientation towards product and business development

· Oral and written communications skills, with expertise in technical writing to support actuarial opinions

· Interest in training and mentoring junior actuarial staff

· Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills

· High level of responsiveness and dependability

· Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment

· Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

· Proficiency in all aspects of financial modeling and analytical techniques

· Proven research capability and strong technical skills, ideally with knowledge of Apex.


Position Responsibilities:

  Driving force behind a new product line for the captive healthcare marketplace

  Setting medical premium / working rates for captive insurance companies

· Reserve calculation and Statements of Actuarial Opinion for captive healthcare products

· Manager of 2+ actuaries providing support and subject matter expertise in areas such as health care, life insurance and disability

· Product development in areas including employee benefits funding, captive insurance and health care design

· Building financial and analytical models in support of various project initiatives
