Smartronix is currently seeking a Senior Geospatial Engineer in support of our client in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The candidate will serve as a senior geospatial information systems engineer in the GIS Business Group located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He/she will provide technical leadership and vision in the conceptualization, analysis, design, development and implementation of geospatial information systems for military and commercial applications. Activities include working with customers to understand problems, seek innovative solutions, refine system requirements, write proposals, and establish project plans. The candidate will also be responsible for defining and executing internal research projects. This position will include interfacing with other technical areas and domain experts within and outside the company. The candidate will perform analysis of requirements for an imagery analysis application and perform high level system design to satisfy those requirements. Candidate will support development of system architecture and concept of operations for the advanced Geospatial technologies. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to lead small teams of other engineers in defining system architecture and the approach to incorporating new capabilities into the system.
The candidate will be expected to participate in evaluation of and development of responses to RFIs including development of pricing information. Additional responsibilities may include correction and update of documents, contribute to, or make, presentations, attend meetings and reviews, and analysis of customer requests to determine needs and recommend appropriate configuration, equipment and software changes to satisfy requests.

Required Skills:5-7 years of hands-on experience in GIS and practical knowledge and expertise of ESRI software suite including ArcGIS, SDE, and ArcGIS ServerArcSDE Enterprise Geodatabases and Personal Geodatabases & ShapefilesHands on experience with geospatial database administration, design and deployment on an Oracle 9i/10g platform and any other required database, utilizing data modeling tools,  ESRI products, Oracle Spatial, PL/SQL packages, triggers, functions, and other database objectsDoD system experience with GSAT, GEOBase, GeoBlast and other currently deployed and operations software systemsWeb based mapping applications such as ArcIMS or ArcGIS ServerWeb application development with HTML, VBScript, JavaScript, .ASP, ArcXMLProgramming skills in VB.NET, C#, and JAVASCRIPT, and ArcObjectsActive Top Secret security clearance granted by the Department of Defense
