Pilgrim's Pride products are sold to foodservice, retail and frozen entree customers. The Company's primary distribution is through retailers, foodservice distributors and restaurants throughout the United States and Puerto Rico and in the Northern and Central regions of Mexico.

Pilgrim's Pride is seeking a Senior Food Technologist to work in our Mt. Pleasant, TX location. This position will be responsible for planning and conducting multiple product development/project assignments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Developing and improving products and processes.
2. Determining project parameters to ensure anticipated product shelf life and maintain product quality. Pursuing a number of simultaneous research projects.
3. Formulating new products, developing processes and cost/quality improvements while serving as backup to Project Manager.
4. Principal department resource for identifying and implementing new technologies.
5. Ensuring awareness of technical trends and their potential application to build profitability.
6. Performing related tasks as requested.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 4 years experience in product development as a food technologist or equivalent position.
• Demonstrate proficiency in product development.
• Demonstrate proficiency in working knowledge of plant equipment, plant processes, and facilities.
• Independently design and execute experiments using recognized procedures.
• Maintain accurate and complete records.
• Demonstrate initiative in seeking information and applications from outside sources.
• Conduct and structure project presentations to management.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science preferred.
