CH2M HILL is seeking a candidate with a strong freshwater or estuarine fisheries background to provide leadership on projects related to Central Valley water management and restoration of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The position will be based in our Sacramento, California office with the Water Business Group. The candidate will be expected to lead projects and tasks related to all aspects of fisheries biology including anadromous species, aquatic ecosystem restoration, and aquatic species mitigation and management. Individuals experienced in working with California water resources and fisheries/wildlife agencies would be particularly favorable.
This person will lead project teams, develop and mentor junior staff, and provide project technical guidance and quality control. He/she will be expected to contribute to strategic planning and business development activities and will be responsible for budgets and scope, and management of project teams. Multi-tasking and delegating skills are important as is the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
Prospective candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as team-oriented work practices and the ability to network and meet with professionals in our offices throughout the southwest region and occasionally in other regions. Solid data analysis, technical problem solving, and organizational skills are also required.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: A BA/BS in environmental science/planning or related field with a minimum of 7 years of applied experience with freshwater or estuarine fisheries is required. Candidate must be willing to relocate to Sacramento, California. Prior consulting experience is a must. Preferred Qualifications: CH2M HILL s ideal candidate will have 10 + years of experience, an MS or PhD in fisheries science, and experience working with water or fisheries/wildlife agencies in California.
