Position Description:
•Monthly and quarterly expense analysis, reporting and consolidation for the Retirement & Protection (R&P) segment. •Assist Expense Leaders and Cost Center owners with time study process for functional areas assigned. Work with Cost Center managers to ensure results are consistent with business practices. •Assist in administering budget process with Expense Leaders for functional areas and businesses to include budget formulation, expense tracking, reporting and variance analysis. •Review Program Spend projects - tracking project spend monthly and quarterly for the R&P Segment. •Suggest cost savings ideas to Expense Leaders and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in a concise manner - assist SLT in executing cost savings. Participate in Cost Action Team (CAT) activities where appropriate. •Participate in Process Improvement teams, to include system related activities which may help Genworth to continue to automate its processes. •Respond to ad-hoc requests as needed. Basic: •BS/BA Finance or Accounting •5+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting •Expense accounting experience •PC technical skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) •Financial Statement Awareness •Strong analytical skills •Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form •Proven organizational skills and attention to details Preferred: •MBA or CPA •Proficiencies with TM1, Oracle / OFA, Discoverer as well as efficient use of MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) •High energy with very strong interpersonal/influencing skills •Critical thinking, results focused, and execution driven •Varied finance systems experience a plus
