Work with SCG Project Managers and Project Planners to: Provide expert analysis of SCG project impacts on natural resources Develop avoidance, minimization and mitigation measures Develop habitat restoration plans Obtain environmental permits pursuant to state and federal Endangered Species Acts, California Fish and Game Code and Clean Water Act. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act and the California Environmental Quality Act. Administer natural resource-related programmatic permits, e.g. Biological Opinions, Section 2081 Management Authorizations, and Streambed Alteration Agreements Regulatory agency consultation, coordination and negotiation Quality assure in-house and consultant produced work products Conduct habitat suitability assessments, wetland delineations and sensitive species focused surveys Prepare biological technical reports, biological assessments, habitat conservation plans, environmental assessments, and related documents Project management duties include:
Prepare Requests for Proposals
Develop strategies, schedules and budgets for project environmental permitting
Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in biology, wildlife biology, ecology, botany or related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of biological field experience, biological permitting experience or natural resource project management experience is required.
Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment Exceptional organizational and time management skills Ability to assimilate, synthesize and then concisely communicate large amounts of technical information Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to accurately characterize problems and propose innovative solutions Computer and related technology proficiency including the use of Microsoft Office software Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Must be a team oriented individual who shows initiative and demonstrates flexibility
