PB’s Oakland office has an immediate opening for a Senior Civil Engineer.  This position provides the opportunity to work on the final design of the BART Warm Springs / Lake Elizabeth Subway Extension project.  The successful candidate will prepare civil design drawings for the Subway construction contract under the supervision of the civil discipline lead.  The civil design includes design of arterial streets, grading, drainage and paving plans, detours, cross sections, preparation of earthwork quantities and development of instructions to rebuild the arterial street in its original configuration after construction of the Subway. Project work will be prepared in the BART project office, co-located with agency and consultant staff. 

 

 

5+ years (minimum) experience in highway/civil design Proficiency in preparing design drawings in AutoCAD is required Knowledge of Civil 3D software is desirable Knowledge of BART design standards is desired Candidate must be capable of performing independently and be effective in a supporting role as part of a project team. Candidates must also possess strong communication, organizational, coordination, and technical writing skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) desired

Education Required:

BS in Civil Engineering required California PE license, and at least five years of experience in civil engineering design.
