Senior Electrical Engineering Project Manager

The Senior Electrical Engineering Project Manager reports to the Director of Engineering, and will provide electrical design, engineering, testing requirements, permitting and construction support for wind energy projects throughout the U.S.  This position is based in Texas and will require permanent relocation to the area.

Responsibilities & Duties:

·        Perform standard electrical engineering calculations and preliminary electrical design.

·        Interface closely with development, engineering and construction teams to ensure that project needs and objectives are maintained and satisfied.

·        Prepare electrical scope documents, exhibits, budgets, schedules and Requests for Proposals (RFP’s).

·        Prepare initial collection system routing and substation layout and transmission line routing.

·        Direct and manage the work performed by electrical engineering consultants.

·        Provide technical review and comment to detailed electrical design and engineering performed by others.

·        Lead or participate in project meetings and conference calls.

·        Provide verbal and written project status updates and reports.

·        Ensure the production of quality electrical engineering plans and specifications, while ensuring compliance with project and industry requirements and standards.

·        Participate in the engineering, design and construction review processes.

·        Maintain and foster consulting engineer and equipment supplier contacts.

·        Direct and manage the due-diligence review of the wind farm electrical design by a third party consultant or bank’s engineer.

·        Ensure final documentation is accurate and complete for all project work.

Requirements:

·        BS in Engineering Degree from an accredited college or university.

·        Professional engineering registration is desired.

·        Twenty years or more of relevant technical, administrative and management experience involving technical support services for power plant development, construction, and operations.

·        Possess financial, budgetary and schedule experience.

·        Team oriented, and possess and demonstrate good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
