Senior Director of Admissions

The purpose of The Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg is to provide quality higher education for students seeking careers in applied arts, media, and design professions and we have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced sales professional to lead our admissions team.

Reporting directly to the Campus President, the Senior Director of Admissions will serve as the chief sales and marketing executive for the college and as a member of the school’s Executive Committee (EC).  If selected, you will be the key person responsible for new student recruitment and sales management for the admissions department.  Some responsibilities include the conversion of inquiries to applicants and applicants to new students.  Establish, forecast and achieve new student and readmissions enrollment and start rate plans while adhering to our processes and culture of selling.  Hiring of admissions staff, maintaining staffing plans, staff training, development, performance management, motivation, and retention. You must be self disciplined and enjoy all aspects of sales necessary to succeed. Exceptional follow-up skills a must.

This position will work closely with the other Executive Committee members to ensure we have successful new student recruitment processes that support student success.  This individual will ensure compliance with Ai system rules, operational procedures, ethical standards, and federal, state and accreditation requirements.

This position requires a Bachelor’s in business or a related field (Master’s preferred) and 10 or more years’ increasingly responsible experience managing a sales operation, particularly admissions recruitment or intangible products.

Qualified candidates will also possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.  Requires an ethical, goal oriented individual who can excel in their own position while working in our collaborative and highly effective team environment.  Must have strong knowledge of MS Office and field related HW/SW packages and operating systems.
