Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN currently has an opportunity for a Senior Data Architect for the Mayo Clinic Enterprise Data Trust (EDT), a data warehouse environment used to improve the quality of medical care and healthcare costs, as well as support research on how best to apply discoveries to patient care. This team plays a vital role in our drive to ensure quality care; the chosen candidate will support that goal by designing, developing and maintaining logical/physical data models in support of scalable and secure data warehousing and business intelligence solutions. Of key importance is the incumbent's ability to learn the uniqueness of healthcare data and information-drawing upon his/her experience to effectively model and support Mayo's core mission of superior patient care-and to interface with Data Governance and Stewardship in order to create accurate data definitions that can be utilized across the Mayo enterprise. This interaction capability will prove critical in discerning information and data dependencies and relationships.

The candidate we seek will have at least 3 years' documented experience as a Data Architect performing dimensional data modeling on data warehouse projects, minimum 1 year defining and implementing data policy/processes/procedures and no less than 3 years' professional IT experience (5+ years' preferred) that includes data warehouse/architecture experience, along with a BS/CS degree and proficiency with data modeling tools (Mayo current uses Power Designer). A combination of relevant, professional education and experience may be considered. A healthcare environment background is preferred, as is experience with data integration/migration, data stewardship and data extraction (Data Mining and business Intelligence). Strong multitasking and business/technical communication skills are essential for this cutting-edge opportunity.
