Trend Micro seeks an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas with 6-8 years of in-house and law firm experience to join the US legal team of Trend Micro Incorporated, a worldwide leader in network and antivirus and content security. 

The Senior Corporate Counsel will support senior sales and operations management for the company’s North American Operations.  As the first attorney based in the company’s growing Texas office, this position is designed to provide an important and highly visible advisory, control and leadership role in an office that is evolving into the headquarters of the company’s US Operations.

Essential responsibilities include:
• drafting and negotiating licensing agreements with enterprise customers, distribution agreements with channel partners and supply agreements with vendors and consultants;
• drafting and negotiating business development and technology licensing agreements to support strategic business initiatives;
• providing employment advice and counsel to local Human Resources team;
• supporting Texas-based finance and inside sales activities;
• overseeing compliance with employment, privacy, financial reporting laws; and
• ensuring quality legal services and risk management practices and high levels of satisfaction from internal clients.

Position reports to Director of US Legal located in the company’s office in Cupertino, California.  Successful candidates must have experience in intellectual property law, contracts and labor law. 

In addition, candidates must have mature judgment, excellent practical problem-solving ability, and strength of character.  Candidates must also have demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment and to drive projects to completion in a timely and consistent fashion.  Excellent writing and interpersonal skills are also required for long-term success.
