Tetra Tech EM Inc, a leading environmental and management consulting firm, is seeking a Civil or Environmental Engineer. This position will manage and perform day-to-day engineering on large scale and complex projects. Projects may include civil design projects or hazardous waste remediation design and optimization. Depending on project and individual’s skills, may include periods of on-site supervision. Responsibilities will include preparation of reports, design documents, and permits; project management; system optimization; and cost/schedule estimating. Provide clear and accurate field documentation. Maintain detailed “actual vs. budgeted” costs and schedules. Additionally, the successful candidate will have demonstrated strong project management and client relations skills. 

Experience Requirements:

Approximately 10 plus years of hands-on engineering experience with various civil projects and/or soil and groundwater remediation systems. Ecosystem restoration and dredging experience a plus.  Candidate must live in the Chicago, Illinois area.

· Ability to accomplish work within project schedules and budgets

Skill Requirements:

Proven project management skills. Ability to cost-effectively design and operate groundwater/soil/vapor remediation systems. Good writing skills, computer proficiency, excellent planning and communication skills a must. Remediation system costing and proposal preparation desirable.

Experience with AUTOCAD and or MICROSTATION CAD systems is a plus, and must be proficient with MS Office applications. Experience with Army Corps of Engineers standard design and specification documents and MCACES cost estimating software preferred.

Education Requirements:

BS in Civil, Environmental or other related Engineering degree required. Professional Engineer certification (PE) is required.
