Desirable West Michigan manufacturer seeking excellent candidates for direct hire Sr. CAD Designer position. This individual will do the following: 1. Create designs using independent judgment and considerable latitude using team input. This includes determining the best designs, dimensioning methods and tolerance stack-ups. 2. Design plastic parts for cost effective and high quality molding. Understand and properly decide rib and wall thickness, fillets, draft, feature coring, wall thickness, strength, cosmetics, etc. 3. Know and understand the CAD software thoroughly and improve CAD skills regularly. Support the skills of other CAD Team Members with technical support, training and general assistance as required. 4. Support all new product development as a dedicated resource, taking direction from the technical leader(s). 5. Provide CAD leadership to the project teams; provide advice, solicit opinions and help ensure communications between the CAD team and the project team. Qualified candidates will have extensive CAD experience as well as the ability to understand and to specify GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
