A Central Alabama supplier for the automotive industry is currently looking for a Senior Buyer.

Responsibilities include...

1. Establishing practices and procedures for department personnel.

2. Selecting vendors, assessing vendor capabilities, developing alternate sources, and evaluating performance.

3. Negotiating price and delivery of commodities, supplies, equipment & services.

4. Recommending specifications of materials to insure best purchase value and available source.

5. Assuring that purchases are followed up and expedited when required.

6. Making certain that purchase documents are properly completed and the terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate.

The ideal candidate has a degree (Engineering preferred) and 3+ years of purchasing experience in large manufacturing setting, preferably automotive.
