Florida Tile, one of the country’s leading tile manufacturers and distributors, seeks a Senior Buyer at its headquarters in Lakeland, FL. This position has been newly created to facilitate and support company expansion.  The Senior Buyer will be responsible for procuring all goods and services excluding raw materials used for manufacturing and products purchased for resale.  Goods and services to be purchased include capital equipment, office furniture, office supplies, and cell phone services.   

Responsibilities include:

developing RFPs as necessary; analyzing quotes and RFP responses; contract negotiation and monitoring; making recommendations to senior management regarding purchasing decisions; serving as liaison with outside counsel for contract review; coordinating with accounting to ensure correct amounts are paid for vendor invoices; and ensuring accurate maintenance of the purchasing contract database.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, strong MS Office skills (especially Excel), excellent written and oral communication skills, at least 5 years of purchasing experience, and the ability to solve problems with little supervision. CPM certification is a plus. This is a terrific opportunity for individuals with experience as a buyer looking to advance their career.
