As a Sr. Internal Auditor with Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA, you will be responsible for performing various and diverse operational and financial integrated audits and work on some high visibility projects. Audit projects can vary from Pharmacy, Corporate Headquarters, IT, Construction, as well as Procurement & Supply. You will also be working with a group of accomplished professionals, most of whom hold one or more of the following certifications: CPA, CIA, CISA. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: - Performs assigned audits using pre-established procedures, programs, assessment tools and tests. - Understands and documents business systems/processes using narratives and/or flowcharting techniques. - Prepares and utilizes risk assessment tools, audit-related exhibits, materials, communications, etc., as required. - Analyzes findings, determines root causes, formulates opinions, and develops recommendations. - Prepares working papers documenting and supporting audit procedures and techniques conducted. - Expected to continue developing broad, in-depth audit knowledge, experience and skills, as well as the ability to function both independently and as a team member. - Will also begin to demonstrate the ability to lead/supervise audit projects in order to progress to Auditor IV In-Charge. - Develops solutions to complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies when making decisions. - Assesses information to identify the best solution from existing alternatives. - Requires in-depth analysis to develop solutions for complex problems. - Conducts assigned audit projects independently and/or with team members. - In conjunction with AIC, determines and identifies potential risks and opportunities to the organization, and develops appropriate corrective action plans. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Typically at least 5 years of professional auditing or comparable experience required. - Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in applying the principles and practices of internal auditing in accounting, financial and operational environments, including auditing business functions and information technology systems. - Demonstrated general accounting, financial and business skills, knowledge, and experience. - Demonstrated skills in the identification and resolution of business problems within a team setting. Ability to research and identify best practices. - Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize general audit software such as ACL, AutoAudit, etc. - Demonstrated ability to understand and document business processes and related internal controls in narrative and/or flowchart formats. - Basic project management skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to persuade, articulate and defend positions. - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Lotus Notes - Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance, information systems or related field or equivalent experience required. - Require 1 of following certifications (or actively pursuing 1 of these): * Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) * Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) For immediate consideration, please visit our website at www.Jobs.KP.org.
