Candidates with extensive banking industry experience may be considered for the Senior Assistant Examiner position, particularly those with extensive bank auditing, commercial lending, or bank operations experience. IT audit/examination experience is also highly desirable. Specific grade assignment, primary areas of emphasis, and level of complexity for this position may vary based on the qualifications and experience of incumbent. Senior Assistant Examiner may lead participate in supervisory activities for small to mid-sized banks and bank holding companies. Additionally, gathers and synthesizes information from multiple sources, effectively communicates results through appropriate media, and provides leadership, technical expertise, and guidance to train and develop less experienced staff. Senior Examiner provides regulatory oversight for large, complex, or problematic banks and bank holding companies. Routinely leads or participates on high-level supervisory activities, projects, or committees that are typically complex and have a high level of priority and sensitivity. Gathers and synthesizes information from multiple sources, effectively communicates results through appropriate media, and provides leadership, technical expertise, and guidance to train and develop less experienced staff. Identifies, develops, and implements processes and procedures to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. Essential Skills Examiner commission granted by a federal or state banking regulatory authority; OR substantial progress toward receipt of an examiner commission; OR extensive banking industry experience, including bank auditing, commercial lending, or banking operations. IT audit/examination experience is also highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting, auditing, finance, economics, or business, or equivalent work experience.
