Housing and Residence Life, Technology Services
The Senior Applications Analyst works within the Technology Services unit to develop, implement and support systems and technology that meet the computing and information systems needs of Housing and Residence Life. Responsibilities include process analysis, configuration, programming, training, testing, support and documentation for client and web-based software systems. This position also works with functional and technical campus staff to provide analysis, design, and technical support to the Housing Management module of the Student Information System (SIS).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience and 3 –5 years experience developing, programming and supporting information systems. Programming experience in one or more of the following - Perl, Java, PHP, Visual Basic, C/C++, or some other major programming language. Proficiency in SQL and demonstrated knowledge and expertise in relational databases (ie. Oracle, MSSQL or MySQL) Business analysis experience working with both technical and non-technical staff. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and software quickly and independently without formal training; to meet critical deadlines and work independently; and to communicate well verbally and in writing. Strong organizational and customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate the work of others in a leadership role. Demonstrated experience with writing well organized, detailed and understandable documentation for varied audiences, such as end users, administrators, and analysts/developers. Requires occasional off hour and weekend response for system upgrades and to resolve critical problems. Applicant may be subject to background investigation check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Linux and/or Linux Administration. Development or support experience with web applications in a LAMP environment. Experience developing for web clients (CSS, HTML, Javascript). Experience in training, software support and/or consulting. Expertise in the use of end-user reporting tools.
Hiring Salary Range: $46,700 – 58,300
Normal Starting Salary: $46,700 – 52,500
