POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs advanced to highly complex level of technical and analytical work under limited supervision.  Responsible for orderly, timely and accurate reporting of financial and/or clinical outcomes for existing and potential customers. Design, develop, test and produce standard and/or ad hoc reports as requested by internal business units or by LifeMasters’ customers. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

·         Represent/lead function in cross-functional/project teams to develop new/enhanced systems/processes/policies to support business needs.

·         Coach and train lower level staff.

·         Develop recommendations based on data summaries, trend analysis, etc.

·         Analyze contractual requirements to create programming specifications.

·         Generate, develop and deliver reports on a timely basis based on specifications and business and customer needs.

·         Modify and/or enhance existing coding/reports, as needed.

·         Perform QA functions to ensure accuracy of report data.

·         Extract and manipulate large data sets that include multiple data types and sources.

·         Analyze the question being asked to cut the data to most efficiently provide the needed answer.

·         Interact with internal customers to clarify report requests and determine report specifications.

·         Select and use best method of communication in routine contacts with staff to ensure a smooth flow of communication and activities, to clarify information and to coordinate complex and highly visible activities.

·         Coordinate operating results reports for customers.

·         Archive all information related to each report sent to an external customer (code, process to run report, the database etc.).

·         Recommend appropriate process changes to update and enhance the current Reconciliation and Pricing process.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

·         Strong quantitative and analytic skills.  

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

·         Proven ability to QA results.  Provide support for analysis generated.

·         Must have ability to design reports in Excel. To provide data in a meaningful and useable format.

·         Must have ability to operate in areas using a variety of high-technology integrated systems.

·         Must be detail oriented with excellent follow up skills.

·         Must be proactive, take charge of issues, launch investigations, contribute to the pool of knowledge in Business Solutions.

·         Must have experience with and be effective at working in a team environment.

·         Must maintain client confidentiality.

·         Comply with company policies and procedures.

·         Experience with SAS required.

·         Experience with relational databases utilizing Transact-SQL (MS SQL preferred, but Oracle PL/SQL is acceptable).

·         Experience required designing, implementing and maintaining reports.

·         Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and statistical applications.

·         Experience automating MS Office applications using macros/VBA desirable.

·         Experience in data analysis or reporting in a health care setting is a plus.

·         Three to five years experience in analysis preferably in a health care or managed care setting.

 

EDUCATION:
·         BA or BS degree required.  Program should have technical courses with focus on business, information systems, statistics, or health.
