The mandate of the Finance Department is to be a strategic partner for a wide range of constituents within and outside of ING DIRECT USA. It is the objective of our Financeassociates to deliver the right information, in the right format, to the right people at the right time. This requires active solicitation of cross-departmental support as well as a well-defined appreciation for the commercial fundamentals of our business. Commensurate with this aspiration, and in addition to satisfying its core regulator requirements, the Finance Department is output focuses, seeks to influence strategic and tactical decision-making, balances backward and forward perspectives and captures the economic realities underlying ING DIRECT USA by integrating quantitative and qualitative performance drivers. The Finance Department performs its function in strict compliance with regulatory requirements, applicable policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Further, it is the department's responsibility to be an active participant in the organization's Data Governance framework and perpetuate the "Single Source of Truth" philosophy for financial information. The Finance team is structured in four major functions that are closely aligned and interact on a frequent basis in order to achieve the collective mandate:

Job Summary:
The role of the Senior Analyst is to assist the Expense and Budgeting Manager in the creation and maintenance of a framework and process to command primary ownership of the bank's expense management and budgeting functions. Key internal stakeholders will include other members of the core team and the business analysts in the bank's various business units. The Senior Analyst must develop an intimate familiarity with both the bank's core commercial activities, as well as a detailed understanding of the associated expenses and operational activities. The primary focus of this position is to assume a lead role in developing a strategic driver-based approach to budgeting and forecasting. In the processes, the individual will develop and own an enhanced forecasting and budgeting process/system to better align changes in the operation plan and/or strategic direction of the bank.
Essential Functions:
Financial Systems:
Support the Expense and Budgeting Manager in the selection and implementation of a new system.
Manage and own the process to identify, calculate and update Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and other metrics that drive operating and marketing expense.
Partner with other members of the Expense & Budgeting Team to transition the current expense allocation model, non-interest income model and production volume model into the new system.
Develop and implement standardized reporting for expenses, non-interest income and production volumes into the new system.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Reporting:
Support the Expense and Budgeting Manager in the execution of the monthly and quarterly expense forecasts, as well as the annual budget.
Develop and implement an analytical process - not limited to ad-hoc analytical reporting for senior management and analyses providing strategic insights to ING Direct products/businesses.
General:
Keeping abreast of current trends in finance, budgeting, forecasting and accounting in order to be able to provide substantive input to matters surrounding these areas (ongoing).
Provide support in regards to various internal ad hoc projects and reports (as required).
Work with the ED team on data required to ensure proper working knowledge is maintained in Finance regarding budgeting and forecasting (ongoing). Qualifications: Experience & Qualifications:
5-7 Years relevant work experience in expense management and budgeting
Experience implementing budgeting systems a plus
Education and/or Certifications:
A post-secondary degree in Accounting/Finance
CFA/CPA designation desirable
Technical skills and abilities:
Proficiency with office automation software (MS Office Suite)
Ability to be adaptable and flexible while responding to deadlines on assignments and workflow fluctuations
Experience with database applications and automated reporting solutions
Excellent problem diagnosis and analytical skills
Ability to work independently
Command of advanced analytical concepts, such as Discounted Cash Flow, EVA, Embedded Value, RAROC is a plus
Ability to balance several conflicting demands to achieve optimum services performance with a minimum disruption to business operations
Sound experience in devising ways to extract data from many sources and translate this data into useful information
Computer literacy with regards to accounting systems and data consolidation systems
Believes in partnering, shares information and resources and operations cross-functionally
Possess a well-honed understanding of business issues, dynamics and trends
