Overview:

Symetra Financial is seeking an experienced life pricing actuary to oversee the product development activities within the individual life actuarial department in Bellevue, Washington.  This position is responsible for the design, pricing and implementation of all individual life products (Term, Whole Life, UL, VUL), including the development of actuarial memos and supporting materials for state filings.  Previous experience with pricing of individual life products as well as implementation experience is desired.

This position is also responsible for arranging for reinsurance on new products, actuarial support for the sales and inforce illustration software and performing annual illustration testing. 

This position supervises three actuarial students and responsibilities include staffing, development and motivation of the actuarial students.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree, a minimum 5 years of actuarial experience and at least two years experience in life insurance pricing and product development. Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) are desired.  Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) with significant experience will be considered. Strong Excel and Access, communication, analytical, organization and modeling skills (preferably using ALFA) and prior supervisory experience.
