Our office in Dublin, Ohio has an immediate opening in the Finance Department for an experienced Senior Accountant. As a member of this team, your responsibilities will include ensuring the accounting processes used to record revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities are functional and the ledger accounts used to develop financial statements and reports are maintained. This person must have a strong accounting background and be knowledgeable in accounting systems, general ledger, and financial statement preparation. This role also provides functional advice or training to less experienced accountants and performs financial projects as needed.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
· Financial reporting
· Prepare GAAP Financial Statements for External and Internal audiences.
· Work with controller to manage annual audit - timing, preparation of schedules, footnotes, questionnaires, etc
· Manage accounting processes and reconcilements to ensure reporting is in accordance with GAAP
· Month-end close – manage month-end closing schedule; manage month-end data input; prepare month-end trial balance; ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled
· Preparation of debt compliance reports for lenders
· Inventory
· Accurate analysis of current inventory control process flow.
· Maintain stock ledger data, updates and all related controls;
· Oversee the preparation of all inventory related information, including inventory costing and vendor rebate programs, for the financial statements
· Taxes
· Federal, State and Local taxes – work with Controller to manage federal, state and local tax filings, preparation and filing of year-end tax returns and/or assembly of documentation required for tax returns and quarterly tax estimates; participate and provide information as required for federal, state and local audits; prepare documents for corporate registrations, etc.;
· Sales Tax – provide oversight in monthly/quarterly preparation of sales tax returns; correspond with taxing authorities; maintain tax rates at the product level in the ERP system; provide data as required for audits of sales tax returns and tax disputes; produce sales tax exemption certificates as needed for vendors/purchasing;
· Fixed Asset Reporting
· GAAP and Tax asset management and reporting
· 401k Plan – process 401k activity; annual 401k audit, annual 401k discrimination testing
· Internal audit – provide internal audit functions over operational areas of company, planning and executing financial and operational audits
· Risk mgmt – participate in annual insurance renewal - general liability, vehicle, worker's compensation, etc. providing schedules as needed for insurance brokers; manage/document appropriate recognition of insurance expense in financial statements; participate in audits of workers compensation and g/l policies: assist company in production of bid bonds and certificates of insurance when requested by customers
Other:
· Prepare other variations of financial reports that meet the needs of the business including ad-hoc financial analysis to facilitate strategic and tactical decision-making.
· Provide assistance to business units within the company to manage financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analyses by the business units.
· Document accounting and finance department procedures.
· Research and document proper accounting treatments for unusual transactions in areas of responsibility.
· Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
· Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
· Develop working knowledge of accounting system used by the Company for sales, purchasing, inventory control, and accounting.
· Miscellaneous projects as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
Qualified Candidates will possess:
· 3 or more years experience in the Distribution, Manufacturing and/or Retail industries
· Experience with an integrated accounting ERP system, Fixed Asset Software, FRx Software, Excel, and Word are desirable
· Thorough knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and general-ledger account analysis and reconciliation. Knowledge of federal and state taxation desirable.

· Knowledgeable about the use of the Internet for research.
· Must be able to work independently.
· Must be detail oriented and organized.
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment handling multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Must be able to work on many different projects at one time.
