URS                                               About The Company          Utah Retirement Systems provides financially sound retirement and 401(k)/457 investment benefits, as well as comprehensive health and dental, disability, and life insurance benefits to active and retired Utah public employees and their beneficiaries. Job Description          Performs a variety of professional accounting and technical duties as needed to assure the accuracy of the general accounting functions of Utah Retirement Systems and its various departments. Directs and manages various segments of accounting and financial reporting functions.Op Unit:  AccountingDivision: Ret Required Experience          Requires a thorough knowledge of professional accounting standards and ethics; generally accepted accounting principles established by AICPA and GASB; internal control principles and methods of application; laws and regulations pertaining to tax reporting, pension and deferred compensation funds; budgetary principles; statistical measures, calculations and terminology.  Requires a working knowledge of principles of supervision; organizational communication, design, and motivation techniques; business and technical writing; computer accounting applications. Must have the ability to analyze a variety of financial problems and make recommendations; coordinate a variety of financial administrative matters between executives and department heads; apply generally accepted accounting principles in financial reporting; prepare and implement budgets; plan, organize, direct and supervise the work of subordinates; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives, administrators, managers, boards, department heads, employees and the public.   Degree Requirements          Bachelor of Sciences Discipline          Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance, business management, public administration, computer programming or a related field; and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management or accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Preference for professional designation as Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Physical Requirements          Job requires no travel, with no observable hazards or threat to health or safety, and in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Salary/Benefits          $48,079 - 60,098 per Year           In addition to excellent career opportunities, URS offers  highly-competitive compensation and benefits packages, which include health and dental insurance, life and long-term disability insurance, a noncontributory defined benefit retirement plan, 401(k) and 457 plans, paid time off, on-site fitness facilities, and educational assistance. URS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. How To Apply          Apply online at www.urs.org Utah Retirement SystemsHuman Resource Department540 East 200 SouthSalt Lake City, Utah 84102-2099 Phone (801) 366-7766Fax: (801) 245-7766hr@urs.org
