Description: Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Faulkner Hospital Senior Accountant is a key player on a team that is responsible for the coordination and preparation of the complex monthly and year-end financial statements for their assigned entity.

General Responsibilities:

Oversee the year-end audit, ensuring timely completion of schedules and reporting including, but not limited to, P&L, balance sheet, cash flows, activity, net asset transfers, investments, debt and fund accounting.

Perform monthly analysis of P&L activity, overseeing reconciliation of complex balance sheet accounts and processing of journal entries.

Perform ad hoc analyses of issues to support management inquiries for revenue and expenses, all performed within time sensitive deadlines and with a high degree of attention to detail.

Act as accounting liaison to functional areas within Corporate Finance, such as Investments, Benefits, Capital, Special Billing, Cash, A/R, Budget, Research Finance, business managers, and all Partners-affiliated financial staff for all general ledger activity.

Qualifications: A high-energy, self-motivated and flexible team player with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. CPA or MBA a plus. Three to five years of directly-related experience with Hospital and Fund Accounting a strong plus. Maturity, confidence and success in translating and succinctly communicating key analyses and assumptions to senior management for decision-making. A strong customer-service orientation balanced by an ability to take informed, counter positions, as necessary. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Resourcefulness and ability to identify resources to answer questions and find required data and information. Ability to support the Accounting Manager in mentoring and providing guidance to other members of the accounting team. Intermediate to advanced fluency with Excel and above average familiarity with other Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of PeopleSoft 8.4 a strong plus.
