Apply today and discover your next rewarding career experience!  Find your potential at Hawaii Pacific Health, Hawaii's largest healthcare system.    Under the general direction of the Director of Accounting, is responsible for the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures and ensures that both healthcare industry and general accounting standards are applied and followed.  Provides oversight of documented process narratives and evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls for major accounting processes.  Coordinates the compilation of monthly consolidated and obligated group financial statements.  Collaborates with the Director to address internal control deficiencies from the internal auditors for designated departments within the System (examples are HR and the retirement plan audit, grant accounting for the A-133 audit, Risk Management for the regulatory insurance audit).  Coordinates various audit activities during interim and fiscal year end review by the external auditors. Provides technical oversight and coordinates the work assignments of other Accountants.  Provides variance analyses on major expense or revenue categories.   Leads the implementation of control procedures and monitors them to ensure accurate and timely accounting information is being reported.  Responsible for the month end closing entries for major operating units. Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field.  Three years of progressive accounting experience in private industry or public accounting including experience coordinating the work of others.  Demonstrated responsibility for a significant area of the financials (ie. payroll, accounts receivable, physician benefits, GL operations, etc.) and experience working on independent GL related projects.

Preferred:  CPA and/or CIA.  Assurance work for an SEC regulated company subject to the reporting requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) including the review of the documentation, assessment and testing of the organization’s internal controls.
