Position Description:

 

The successful candidate will be accountable for building relationships and selling NCR’s Self Service solution portfolio to US Bank.   They will be able to demonstrate the ability to secure new opportunities maximizing NCR revenue and profitability and increasing NCR’s market share.  The individual will execute the sales process by moving new opportunities successfully through the funnel. 

 

This opportunity will appeal to a self-motivated and self-directed team player, who desires enhancement of leadership and sales qualities at NCR.  In this role the Account Manager will be the key interface in defining the customer’s needs and NCR’s ability to meet those needs through its Self Service solutions.  They serve as the liaison between the customer and NCR in regards to solving issues for new customer escalating any roadblocks to securing the business. 

 

This position requires strong prospecting skills, ability to build customer relationships through consultative selling and promoting customer confidence in NCR focused on the development of new business opportunities and closing new business allowing NCR to aggressively penetrate this account leading to a long term business relationship.

 

Basic Qualifications:  (Please note that you must meet ALL of the Basic Qualifications in order to be considered for the position.)

• Ability to demonstrate outstanding leadership skills in a matrix reporting environment.

• Minimum of 7 years of successful sales development / account development experience in a major financial account environment.  This experience will be both selling solutions, and selling service.  In addition, demonstrate an understanding of the connections between solution sales, services and other NCR business units active in the account.

• Undergraduate/Honors University degree, preferably in Business Administration or Computer Science or equivalent experience .

• Proven sales strategy development, execution and negotiation skills.

• In depth, and detailed understanding of NCR’s competitive landscape.

• Excellent presentation, objection handling, and proposal preparation skills.

• Desire to succeed as measured in key annual sales and revenue objectives.

• Demonstrate creativity in solution definition, including business case development and total cost of ownership calculations.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

The successful candidate will assume the following responsibilities:

•  Lead the account team, and manage all aspects of the Self Service relationship between US Bank and NCR.

•  Attain annual Sales and Revenue targets.

•  Perform direct selling activities, e.g. Client meetings, interest creation, presentation, closing, contracting, relationship development.

•  Account Planning, Opportunity Planning and Executive contact planning.

•  Adherence to NCR Sales methodology.

•  Sell the value of NCR Self Service Product and services offerings.

•  Track competitive strengths and weaknesses.  Track and report wins/losses vs. the competition.

•  Prepare and conduct group office bid reviews.

•  Enter and track new sales opportunities in NCR maintained databases.  Accurately complete monthly order, revenue, and demand forecasts.

•  Manage assigned inventory and accounts receivable.

 

This Account Manager will be assigned annual objectives for sales and revenue, and will be responsible to attain these objectives by selling the following Self Service solution elements:

 

• Self-service solutions (HW/SW, Consulting and Project Management)

• Business case consulting services, and total cost of ownership calculations.

• Application software & customization services

• Hardware & Software support services

 

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be a “virtual employee” located in the Minneapolis Area, allowing for frequent/daily customer contact, and sometimes impromptu (i.e. short notice) customer interaction.

This position will require travel to other US Bank offices as necessary and to NCR’s World Headquarters facility in Dayton, Ohio.
